Exchange rules

The short and complete list of what you agree to when you create a deal.

What we do

We exchange one cryptocurrency for another. You send a coin to the address we issue; we send the other coin to the address you named.

We are not an intermediary between you and a third party: in this deal we are the counterparty. That is what separates an exchange from a payment gateway, where the money goes to a merchant.

Rate and timing

The rate locks when the deal is created and holds until it is complete, regardless of the market.

The rate in the directions table is indicative: it shows what to expect, but the only rate binding on us is the one recorded in your deal.

We earn on the spread, the difference between the market rate and yours. It is already inside the number you see, and there is no separate fee on top.

If the money arrives after the window closed, the exchange at the old rate does not happen and we send your coin back. We will not quietly use a new rate: that is not what you agreed to.

If a different amount arrives

We exchange exactly what arrived, at your deal's rate. You do not need to top up to the stated amount, and an excess is not lost.

The exception is an amount below the deal minimum. We send that back: the network fee on a return can exceed the amount itself, and keeping it would be worse than returning it.

If several transfers arrive, we count their sum.

If the exchange does not go through

It happens: a venue refuses, its rate moves past the allowed limit, the money arrives after the window.

We then return what you sent and ask for the return address separately. This is not a formality: the payout address you named is an address of a DIFFERENT coin, and a transfer to it would go nowhere.

The network fee on the return is deducted from the returned amount. There is nowhere else to take it from: the deal did not happen, so we earned nothing on it.

Limits

Every deal has a minimum and a maximum; both are shown in the form itself and on the limits page.

The maximum is not there for bookkeeping. You name the payout address at the moment of the request and it waits minutes, not a day, so the usual gateway cooling-off period does not exist here. The per-deal ceiling is what replaces it.

What we do not promise

We give no investment advice and do not claim our rate is the best on the market. Comparing is your right and your work.

We cannot recover a coin sent on a different network or to an address of a different coin. That is not an excuse: such funds are technically unreachable.

The address you give is your responsibility. A blockchain transfer cannot be reversed by anyone, including us.
